How to ensure the quality and quantity of compatible consumables used in inkjet printers?
The pressure of the economy forces us to choose to cut back on expenses, but whether in life or work, there will always be situations where we spend more money in order to save money, especially for the common printers in our daily office life.
With the increasing awareness of the cost of single sheet printing, many friends have begun to choose original factory supplied printing products with larger printing volumes. However, there are still many friends who want to further reduce the cost of single sheet printing and choose cheaper ink infusion. However, the occurrence of color cast or clogging in printing is frequent. Why is this?
1、 Types of Ink
This needs to be explained in detail starting from the types of ink used on inkjet printing products. Just like the ballpoint pens we use in our daily lives, the ink commonly used in printers is also divided into water-soluble dye ink and non water soluble pigment ink. So why use two types of ink? This starts with the terminal output requirements of the printer.
The commonly used inkjet printing products in our office and daily life often use water-soluble dye ink. The advantages of this type of ink are smaller molecules, wider color gamut, higher color expression, and lower production costs. However, due to the fact that dye ink is water-soluble, its waterproof ability is poor, and its small molecule structure also makes the printed products easy to fade in exposed environments. Based on the above advantages and disadvantages, dye ink, although widely used, can only be used in inkjet printing products for household and small office groups.
For commercial, enterprise, and production-oriented inkjet printing equipment, end users have high requirements for printing quality and color fastness. These inkjet printing products often use pigment inks with large molecular structures, which are more stable in molecular structure and have strong waterproof and anti light properties. Of course, the high production cost and narrow color gamut are also major drawbacks of this type of ink.
2、 Why is there a blockage?
The common feedback from users on inkjet printing products is the issue of clogging, which can be affected by various factors such as differences in inkjet printing technology, daily printing habits, and ink materials.
At present, the common inkjet printing technologies in the market are mainly divided into thermal foaming printing technology and micro piezoelectric printing technology. The former sprays ink droplets by heating the ink at the nozzle to generate bubbles, while the latter controls the nozzle to push the ink droplets.
Although both technologies have feedback on blockages, the probability of users reporting blockages is still higher for products that use thermal foaming printing technology. This is because heating the ink will produce a certain amount of sediment, which can easily clog the nozzle over time. Of course, the probability of such blockages will decrease year by year with the replacement of nozzle technology and the self-cleaning function of printers.
3、 Why does the probability of clogging increase significantly after replacing third-party ink?
Many users who want to further reduce the cost of individual printing have found that the probability of printer clogging increases significantly after replacing third-party ink. We believe that users should first understand whether to replace the correct third-party ink.
If the printer originally used dye ink, but the user mistakenly purchased and added pigment ink, and the ink added later is incompatible with the original ink in the nozzle, it is easy to produce chemical reactions and form flocculent precipitates, then the problem of clogging will definitely occur. Of course, ink leakage may also occur due to the different fluidity of the two types of ink. If blockage occurs even after purchasing the correct ink, it is likely due to sedimentation caused by different ink formulations. When such blockage occurs, users can try flushing the sediment out multiple times through the printer's flushing nozzle function.
When users need to replace third-party ink, please choose water-soluble or organic solvents according to the different types of ink to rinse off the residual ink in the nozzle before replacing the ink, so as to reduce the risk of clogging after ink replacement.
